Things I Love Thursday: Packability
This week I’m taking part in The Diaper Diaries “Things I Love Thursday” meme.
“Packability”. I love our packability.
I’ve recently realized how “packable” 4yo Carlos and I are.
We’ve moved 4 times in 4 years, so keeping things at minimum has become our specialization.
I amazed myself in our recent one-week backpacking trip in central Ecuador. I brought no more than a 20 liter capacity rucksack for the two of us, including my laptop and his flute’s head. I actually use the same rucksack for our one-day outings in the City, but somehow was able to reduce our luggage to a minimum.
Now after the last house move we kept even less things with us, and I absolutely love it. We certainly don’t miss the junk.
Who would’ve imagined that having less would give one more satisfaction than having more?
Having less means more “packability”, and packability feels like freedom to me!

Wow, I think I need lessons in “packability”, LOL. I always take along more than we need “just in case”.
Lol. I’ll be posting our backpack content for the next trip, probably next week.
I used to bring things “just in case” as well, but try to bring them on your back while walking and taking care of a 4yo. You’ll learn packability in one lesson
Wow, this is really impressive. I will completely admit I am an overpacker. We always seem to bring the biggest suitcase wherever we go.
Lol, when I see families with large suitcases I feel “light”.
I forgot to take pictures of my backpack for the last trip. But I have it in mind.
