Hi Emma, nice to see you here.

Yes, my son was given formula because I didn't have milk right after birth...they waited fo about 2 minutes after letting me try to nurse him (with no help) and decided I wasn't able to nurse him. I asked not to give him formula but they gave him water and the next days they gave him formula. It was a very bad and sad start (I cried a lot) but after a few days leaving the hospital nursing became so easy and natural. I'd love to let people at the hospital we're still nursing after 4 years, just for their info.

And yesterday I recall that my mom in her short breastfeeding experience (maybe one month with each child) cross nursed the newborn of her roommate at the hospital because the other mom didn't have milk and asked my mom to do so. My mom sounds happy when she tells the story.

I'm sure this is more common than we believe.

I would cross nurse too. I did not know Carlos was given formula at the hospital- how awful.

I have never had the opportunity, but I would love to adopt a baby one day and try to breastfeed him or her.

Beautiful new website by the way- and a great idea ;-)

Lots of love to you and your family XXX
